Along the way, visit the sacred town of Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Stop in Meknes for lunch and a quick exploration of its grand architecture. Arrive in Fes for dinner and an overnight stay in a charming riad.

Day 2: Discover Fes
Begin your day with a guided exploration of Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Visit the Royal Palace gates, the Jewish quarter, and the vibrant medina of Fes el-Bali. Watch artisans at work using centuries-old techniques. In the afternoon, visit the French-influenced Ville Nouvelle and relax at a local café. Overnight in Fes.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
Travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Pass through Ifrane (nicknamed “Little Switzerland”) and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. Stop for lunch in Midelt, then continue through the Ziz Valley toward the desert town of Merzouga. Settle into your riad and enjoy a traditional dinner.

Day 4: Sahara Desert Experience
Wake up early for a magical sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, embark on a desert excursion by camel or 4×4. Visit a nomadic family, explore the dunes, and enjoy a Berber lunch in the desert. Return to Merzouga in the evening for a hammam and dinner, followed by a night under the stars in a desert camp or riad.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Depart from Merzouga and head west toward the Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise 300 meters high. Take a walk along the river before continuing to the Dades Valley. Enjoy the stunning rock formations and green oasis landscapes. Overnight in a family-run guesthouse.

Day 6: Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Continue through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs toward the historic fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in many films. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech by evening. Overnight in a riad.

Day 7: Explore Marrakech
Spend the day exploring the vibrant city of Marrakech. Visit the Majorelle Garden, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. In the evening, dive into the chaos and charm of Jemaa El Fna square, filled with snake charmers, street performers, and food stalls. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech – Essaouira
Leave Marrakech for the Atlantic coast and the breezy town of Essaouira. Known for its blue boats, whitewashed medina, and artistic vibe, it’s the perfect place to unwind. Visit the old port, Skala fortress, and enjoy fresh seafood. Overnight in a seaside riad.

Day 9: Essaouira – Casablanca – Rabat
Depart Essaouira for Casablanca. Visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, perched on the ocean’s edge. Then travel north to Rabat, Morocco’s political capital, where you’ll explore the Royal Palace, the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the historic Chellah Necropolis. Overnight in Rabat.
