5-Day Sahara Adventure from Fez
Day 1: Arrival in Fez – Discover the Imperial City
Your adventure begins with a warm welcome upon arrival in Fez. You’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can rest or start exploring the city’s vibrant old town.
Spend the afternoon wandering through Fez’s historic medina, one of the largest and oldest in the world. Get lost in its maze of alleyways filled with traditional markets, ancient mosques, and hidden courtyards.
Enjoy a flavorful Moroccan dinner and spend the night at your hotel in Fez.
Day 2: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Middle Atlas – Midelt
After breakfast, depart Fez and head south into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, a town known for its European-style chalets, clean streets, and cool climate — a striking contrast to most Moroccan cities.
Continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may see Barbary monkeys roaming freely in the trees. After a scenic mountain drive, arrive in the town of Midelt, set between the Middle and High Atlas ranges.
Settle into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, continue your journey toward the Sahara Desert. Travel through changing landscapes, passing through Errachidia, a desert town surrounded by palm groves.
Drive along the stunning Ziz Valley, known for its lush oases and dramatic gorges. Stop to admire the panoramic views, then continue to Erfoud, a town famous for fossil and marble workshops.
By late afternoon, reach Merzouga, where your camel caravan will be waiting. Ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes to reach a desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and a traditional dinner. Spend the night in a Berber-style tent under a star-filled sky.
Day 4: Merzouga Sunrise – Camel Ride – Return to Fez
Wake early to climb a dune and witness the sunrise over the Sahara—a moment of pure silence and beauty.
Ride camels back to the lodge, where you can freshen up and have breakfast. Begin the return trip to Fez, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way.
Arrive in Fez by late afternoon. Enjoy dinner and a final night’s stay at your hotel.
Day 5: Departure from Fez
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport or train station, depending on your onward travel plans. This marks the end of your unforgettable desert journey.
